Coronavirus – national school closure
The Scottish Government has announced schools across Scotland will close after Friday.
We are working with them to ensure continued support for young people preparing for exams and families affected. We will provide more info as soon as we can.
There will be no exams before the summer holidays, as confirmed by the Scottish Government. Pupils will be assessed on their coursework, their estimated grades and their prior work.
Renfrewshire Council has created a page on the authority website dedicated to information regarding schools and nurseries at this time. You can access this information and advice here: http://www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/coronavirus-schools.
At present, it is the Council’s aim to to operate the following services:
- 3 primaries including early years centres for target groups of children whose parents work in emergency / critical services
- All secondaries to remain open for senior phase and for S1-S3 young people whose parents work in vital services
It is the Council’s intention to set these services up by Monday 23rd March and they will operate, in the first instance, from 9am-3pm.
