Librarian: Mr A Kerr
The school Library is a very busy and valuable resource for staff and pupils and and it is an integral part in the effective development and delivery of A Curriculum for Excellence. There are currently six main sections in the library: Fiction, Non-fiction, Reference, Careers, Computers and Staff.
All members of the school community can access information from a wide range of resources, including fiction and non-fiction books, CD & MP3 audio titles, DVDs, magazines and online learning links. The Library has recently had a PC refresh, and there are now 15 network PCs and a B&W laser printer, as well as a further 10 additional laptops (connected to wifi) which along with two Windows tablets bring the library’s computers to a total of 27.
Mr Kerr liaises with departments to encourage extensive use of the library, the emphasis being on reader development and information literacy.
We are keen to encourage pupils to use the Library for their studies and for recreational reading, and the library supports this throughout the school day, at lunchtime and after school. For opening times, library activities (such as the Book Group) and news please use the menu above.
Mr Kerr is glad to give help and advice, whether it’s finding books, information, learning resources or in the use of ICT facilities. Please see Library News and revised Opening times for recent developments due to service changes.
