Librarian: Mr A Kerr
The school Library is a very busy and valuable resource for staff and pupils and and it is an integral part in the effective development and delivery of A Curriculum for Excellence. There are currently seven main sections in the library: Reading Scheme, Fiction, Non-fiction, Reference, Careers, Computers and Staff.
All members of the school community can access information from a wide range of resources, including fiction and non-fiction books, CD & MP3 audio titles, DVDs, magazines and online learning links. The Library has recently had a PC refresh, and there are now 16 network PCs and a B&W laser printer.
As of January 2019 all Renfrewshire secondary schools share a new online system and shortly Trinity High School will have its own web catalogue where pupils will be able to search for and reserve books. All pupils are now automatically members of Renfrewshire Libraries and will be issued with a Library Card which they can use in school or at their local library. A web link for the Trinity HS Library catalogue will be posted here when it goes live soon.
Mr Kerr liaises with departments to encourage extensive use of the library, the emphasis being on reader development and information literacy.
We are keen to encourage pupils to use the Library for their studies and for recreational reading, and the library supports this throughout the school day, at lunchtime and after school.
Mr Kerr is glad to give help and advice, whether it’s finding books, information, learning resources or in the use of ICT facilities. Please see Library News and revised Opening times for recent developments due to service changes.
