With the help of S6 student mentors, the school is excited to offer personalised study classes that are open to all S4 pupils. The classes will take place on Mondays and Tuesdays. Our S6 mentors can help with homework, past paper questions, assignments and offer study tips based on their own experiences to S4 pupils worried about their course assessments and/or exams. Refreshments are available, too!
The school is looking to develop further partnerships with parents and employers by providing a range of experiences that our young people may benefit from in terms of their future career goals and employability.
These experiences range from providing work experience placements to opportunities to learn from parents and employers willing to visit the school and advise our young people about their own particular jobs and career choices, from providing advice about how to make career goals a reality to “insider” knowledge regarding the reality of working in a particular field.
If you feel you could help in any way, we’d like to hear from you.
Our young people have a wide range of career aspirations and we are certain that any advice/experience/insights you can provide would not only be gratefully received but pivotal in helping our young people shape their future.
We have plans for a range of activities, from work experience placements to ‘Learning From Work’ week, classroom visits to group/individual mentoring.
In particular this year, we are looking to establish a range of experiences that our young people in S4-S6 aspiring to gain careers in Dentistry, Law, Medicine, STEM, Surgery and Veterinary Medicine may benefit from. However, we are also looking for ANY assistance you can offer with any career choice, from A to Z, that you can offer, no matter how large or small a commitment manageable.
If this is something you feel you can contribute to, we’d love to hear from you. You can contact the school by telephoning 0141 885 6121 or by emailing us using the contact from HERE.
